Be Strong

My parents were never fair with me. They always treated my brother better in the family. I was never good enough in their eyes. They got divorced 8 years ago, but it still affects me to this day because it has not stopped. Maybe it was not their intention to make me feel this way, but that does not mean the feelings do not occur. That is why being strong was all that I had left.

Throughout my toughest struggles, I taught myself to be strong. How? I started to listen to music more often and blocking the world out. I started to become more independent and doing things on my own. I got rid of people that were not a positive impact on me and developed new friendships. I learned to keep going no matter how tough it was. I read quotes that motivated me to be strong. This technique made me know that nothing is permanent, not even our struggles. Everything is temporary and soon enough, things were going to be okay.

I know I am good enough and I know that no one can break me apart. Being strong does not mean to never be weak. It means to get back up when you fall. The best strength begins with you.
